Regulatory status
Transfero Swiss AG of Zug is a Swiss financial intermediary and VASP member of VQF, a FINMA recognized self regulatory organisation. In Brazil, Transfero Instituicao de Pagamento Ltda. was authorized by Banco Central do Brasil as a payment institution in the electronic money issuer modality in August 2023. Authorization under the new Brazilian SPSAV virtual asset regime effective February 2026 is pending or unknown.
Entity structure
The group has a Swiss parent, Transfero Swiss AG in Zug, with operations headquartered in Rio de Janeiro. Brazilian entities include the central bank authorized payment institution, and the BRZ whitepaper assigns the token mint role to Transfero Asset Management Ltd in the Bahamas with reserves held by separate reserve managers.
