Stream protocol losses and counterparty issues have caused a DeFi-wide liquidity crunch, stalling FeeFlow auctions for EUL buybacks as participants can't withdraw assets to bid. Some auction shares claim vaults with toxic Stream-affected assets that may not convert to underlying tokens.
DAO protocol-owned EUL liquidity will be migrated from Uniswap and Euler to new EulerSwap vaults to bootstrap the DEX, enabling LPs to earn lending yield on reserves and borrow against positions. This introduces smart contract risk from the new protocol and potential lower productivity until EulerSwap establishes competitiveness, despite 5 audits.

Previously, a percentage of protocol fees went to EUL buybacks through fee flow auctions. After a bridge update in April 2026, Fee Flow auctions are paused. Fees accrue to the DAO as vault shares.
Euler Labs does not receive protocol revenue, Euler Foundation does not generate profit. Revenue supports DAO Treasury and ecosystem funding.
50% of net protocol revenue (from lending/borrowing fees) was used to auction fees in exchange for EUL tokens paid by bidders, effectively repurchasing EUL and sending it to the DAO treasury for uses decided by governance. This action has been paused. There is an active proposal from Euler Labs to set Euler protocol fees to zero.
