Proposal to deploy Aave v3 on Crypto.com enables $cdcETH as a core collateral asset on the chain. Despite SEC Wells Notice alleging certain altcoins as securities, Crypto.com's compliance remains unchanged and no preemptive risk measures are needed for the deployment.
cdcETH, a liquid staking token from Crypto.com, is recommended for onboarding as collateral in a dedicated Aave V3 instance with ETH-correlated eMode, given its alignment with other LSTs already on Aave and Crypto.com's strong track record. Despite centralization risks from Crypto.com's control over supply, custody, and upgradable oracle without timelock, these are mitigated by the isolated instance structure and pending bug bounty implementation.
cdcETH, Crypto.com's staked ETH product with over $80M TVL, is being enabled as collateral in a dedicated Aave v3 instance for their DeFi Staking product. This allows looping via eMode to bootstrap liquidity, following an abstained vote to onboard it to the main instance.
CDCETH is a liquid staking token for ETH issued by Crypto.com, which has grown to over $100M TVL since its November 2023 launch and has established liquidity on Curve and Uniswap pools. Crypto.com commits $5M in initial supply-side liquidity and $100K in mining rewards over three months to support its use as collateral, meeting user demand for borrowing against the LST.
