# PEAK Bonus Minting for new MarketPeak members

## Summary

As you know the defined total supply of PEAK token is 2 billion PEAK of which 360 million PEAK were allocated for the MarketPeak community. The reason for this was to motivate and reward users for educating on the platform and at the same time, to practice the DeFi applications on the blockchain.

These 360 million PEAK tokens have been used up since November 2021 and are no longer available for new users.

Due to many requests from the community, the proposal is to mint another 500 million PEAK for MarketPeak to exclusively reward new members for using the education and for practicing and applying the PEAK token on the blockchain. In practice, each new member will receive a certain amount of PEAK tokens every week for a total period of 12 months. This will make it easier and faster for members to learn about the PEAKDEFI ecosystem, the DeFi space and many other web3 applications by practicing it.

If this proposal becomes successful then the total supply in the future will be around 2.5 billion PEAK Token (it will be some million PEAK less because of the burning mechanism on the PEAKDEFI staking.)
