eUSD is backed by a basket of yield-bearing USDC and USDT deposits in Aave and Compound, with full redeemability ensured by protocol mechanics and overcollateralization from staked RSR. During the March 2023 USDC depeg, the protocol swapped defaulted collateral for USDT using emergency measures and RSR staking to maintain the peg without solvency issues.
