- XAUt0 is an omnichain format designed to provide cross-chain mobility for Tether’s gold token. The system locks XAUt on Ethereum in an OFT Adapter contract and mints/burns XAUt0 across supported chains via LayerZero messaging. Tokenholders are not direct holders of the underlying gold, physical redemption remains through the underlying XAUt issuer process (including onboarding/KYC), while XAUt0 can be transferred and bridged across supported networks.
