📊 Token Metrics

Berachain runs on a three-token system:

  • BERA → Gas + staking token that secures the chain.

  • BGT → Governance + incentive token for validators and LPs.

  • HONEY → Stable asset used within the ecosystem.

To really understand how these tokens function, you need to look at Berachain’s Proof-of-Liquidity (PoL) mechanism.

Here’s how it works: validators don’t just earn rewards for securing the chain—they are required to share part of those rewards with the dApps their delegators interact with. In turn, the dApps give back incentives to validators, who then pass those incentives down to users. This creates a flywheel where dApps compete to attract more BGT delegations, while users are motivated to delegate where they get the best boost.
