STX has no maximum supply, and the Stacks Foundation states so explicitly; the commonly cited 1,818,000,000 figure was an estimate of 2050 supply, not a cap. Genesis supply of 1,320,000,000 STX is disclosed in an SEC-qualified offering circular, with every sale round carrying a date, price and amount, and the affiliate/non-affiliate split published. The emission schedule is fully documented but has been changed twice by governance in under two years: SIP-029 postponed the original four-year halvings in late 2024, the resulting cut to 500 STX per Bitcoin block took effect in April 2026, and SIP-045 then restored 1,000 STX per block at the PoX-5 hard fork on 30 July 2026, deleting the step-down schedule entirely on the stated basis that "the 1,000 STX rate carries no scheduled reductions." The current rate is therefore approximately 52,560,000 STX a year with no scheduled reduction, provisional pending a PoX-6 reassessment, and the SIP-029 target of 1,804,075,347 by 2050 is void. Scores 9 because the disclosure itself is exemplary — published SIPs, an on-chain vote verifiable independently, and a stated reassessment commitment — while the schedule's volatility is a tokenomics risk rather than a disclosure gap.
