
## Overview

This proposal upgrades the KinicDB backend to v0.2.6. It adds batch insert, tag listing, configurable top-k search, and explicit user role update APIs. It also fixes reset behavior so tag data is cleared together with vector, object, and index state.

## Changes

* Added `insert_batch: (Vec<(Vec<f32>, String)>) -> InsertBatchResult` to insert multiple items in one update call.
* Added validation for batch insert so invalid input returns `Err` and no items are inserted.
* Added `list_tags: () -> Vec<String>` to return all tags in a memory canister.
* Added `search_with_topk: (Vec<f32>, u64) -> Vec<(f32, String)>` to search with a caller-specified result limit.
* Added `search_index_with_topk: (Vec<f32>, u64) -> Vec<(f32, u32)>` for global search with a caller-specified result limit.
* Added `set_user_role: (Principal, u8) -> ()` so Admin users can explicitly overwrite a user role.
* Kept `add_new_user`, `add_new_reader`, and `add_new_writer` for backward compatibility.
* Updated `reset` to clear the tag database as well as storage, backlinks, index, object DB, and removed indices.
* Updated instance API documentation and Candid definition.

# Kinic Developer Organization (LISTINGS)

 This proposal will release 45,000 ICP from the Kinic Treasury to the Kinic Developer Organization (KDO). A portion of this will be used to pay a market maker who will assist in liquidity and market transactions for the KINIC token on centralized exchanges. It will also be used to pay listing fees and relevant expenses for listings on three centralized exchanges.
 
The KDO has spent time vetting and discussing with centralized exchanges (CEXs). Three have been shortlisted for strategic reasons. KINIC may be the first SNS project to list on an exchange outside of the ICP DEX ecosystem. We hope that the listing of KINIC will pave the way for other SNS tokens in the ecosystem to get onto CEXs.

The greatest asset of the DAO and its members is the KINIC token, used for governance and within KINIC app tooling. These listings will increase awareness and facilitate movement of KINIC.

# KINIC Deflation Proposal

## Executive Summary
We tried this a few times before but saw an SNS technical issue. This sends the KINIC tokens to a blackhole canister that burns them.
Testig with a small amount first. This proposal initiates the first test treasury burn to reduce KINIC's total supply, marking a transition from inflationary to deflationary tokenomics.

## Background
Over the past few years, KINIC has experienced steady 2.5% inflation through voting rewards, increasing the total token supply beyond optimal levels. This proposal represents the first test of our treasury burn mechanism to reverse this trend.

### Near-Term Target (Phase 1)
- **Target Total Supply:** 6,000,000 KINIC
- **Method:** Direct burn from treasury reserves
- **Purpose:** Test the burn mechanism and establish deflation precedent

### Long-Term Vision (Phase 2)

## Strategic Rationale

### Why Deflation?
1. **Counteract Historical Inflation:** Voting rewards have steadily increased supply, diluting token value

This will cover the costs of three core developers, community grants, and community developers building Kinic DAO. And also a new community manager, for marketing and PR campaigns. The funding is expected to last until the end of March 2024 (a 3-month duration). This quarter we have a strong focus on KINIC token utility.
  
  Kinic Dev DAO has recently made a proposal for addition of a canister va3nt-myaaa-aaaak-afjga-cai to the Kinic SNS. This proposal was accepted. Thank you.
  
 This canister currently hosts a vector db frontend, which runs 100% on the IC, and can do queries in under 3s. It also hosts a LLM model running in browser and from a standard server. Having data run on-chain allows for verifiability of data sources which prevents hacking and manipulation attempts. With upcoming improvements, we expect that we can also make this data privately held on-chain for enterprise use. 
 
 First load of the AI model may take a few moments; but after it should be comparable to web2. Local LLM depend on local computer specs, your experience may vary. The advantage is that local models can allow for true privacy - good for biometrics and more.  The current models hold data from the Dfinity Developer Docs.   This quarter we are focused on making this canister into a UI where any data type can be uploaded and used in the same way: Dev docs, website data, company oracle, trading data, game data, more. Later, model selection and different AI templates will be made available. All tokens earned this way will be sent to the Kinic Treasury directly.
  
  On the research front Kinic Dev DAO is continuing on zkML work. This will allow local or remote inference, privacy preserving inputs,

# Kinic Developer Organization (PFF)

  The combination of the 'proposal for funding' 33 and 34 will collectively release 10,000 ICP from the Kinic Treasury to The Kinic Developer Organization. This will cover the costs of three core developers, community grants, and community developers building Kinic DAO. And also a new community manager, for marketing and PR campaigns. The funding is expected to last until the end of March 2024 (a 3-month duration). This quarter we have a strong focus on KINIC token utility.
  
  Kinic Dev DAO has recently made a proposal for addition of a canister va3nt-myaaa-aaaak-afjga-cai to the Kinic SNS. This proposal was accepted. Thank you.
  
 This canister currently hosts a vector db frontend, which runs 100% on the IC, and can do queries in under 3s. It also hosts a LLM model running in browser and from a standard server. Having data run on-chain allows for verifiability of data sources which prevents hacking and manipulation attempts. With upcoming improvements, we expect that we can also make this data privately held on-chain for enterprise use. 
 
 First load of the AI model may take a few moments; but after it should be comparable to web2. Local LLM depend on local computer specs, your experience may vary. The advantage is that local models can allow for true privacy - good for biometrics and more.  The current models hold data from the Dfinity Developer Docs.   This quarter we are focused on making this canister into a UI where any data type can be uploaded and used in the same way: Dev docs, website data, company oracle, trading data, game data, more. A user will be able to upload data using ICP or KINIC tokens and deploy their own vector DB living on-chain. Moreover, they will be able to deploy a UI for users to query. Later, model selection and different AI templates will be made available. All tokens earned this way will be sent to the Kinic Treasury directly.
  
  On the research front Kinic Dev DAO is continuing on zkML work. This will allow local or remote inference, privacy preserving inputs,
  
  ## Roadmap and Milestones
  
  - Allow for automatic deploy vector db and upload data (using KINIC and/or ICP tokens), on the IC.
  - Alter va3nt-myaaa-aaaak-afjga-cai canister UI to have a login, upload, and KINIC funding option.
  - Experiments with off-chain servers and local devices with ZK backed attestation of correct inference.
  - Potential community grants and awards to support general ZK and AI development on the IC.
  - Marketing and community efforts.

Upgrade the SNS canisters to the next version. This proposal will upgrade the SNS token index canister to the version released in August 2023. The release contains various improvements including (but not limited to) efficiency.

The changes in this upgrade mainly affect the decentralization swap and are thus not important to Kinic. As all SNS canister upgrades are applied in sequence, though, this upgrade has to execute before subsequent ones can go in.

The upgrade fixes several bugs in the SNS governance canister: (1) add a check for maturity modulation when spawning a neuron, (2) ensure tallies are updated upon votes even when the proposal is executed, (3) disallow top-up of neurons' fund neurons.

Deploy a maintenance upgrade to the SNS root canister.

This is a bug fix release of the governance canister. The upgrade path from [proposal 127065](https://dashboard.internetcomputer.org/proposal/127065) skips the governance canister version from [proposal 126882](https://dashboard.internetcomputer.org/proposal/126882), but the release notes for the version that is deployed with this proposal are relative to the version from 126882. Thus, this upgrade also introduces a proposal type `MintSnsTokens` for minting new SNS governance tokens and disables following for critical proposals.

This upgrade fixes a bug in the governance canister through which canister upgrades would set the memory allocation of the upgraded canister to 1GB, which also implies that the overall memory consumption of the affected canister is limited to 1GB.

Upgrade the root canister to support a new `ManageDappCanisterSettings` proposal type.

Hi KINIC DAO Community! 

This is the first proposal in a series of proposals for the KINIC DAO to trade KINIC tokens for CYCLES at the CYCLES-TRANSFER-STATION 100% on-chain order-book market trade platform.

At the CTS market, traders place an order (position) and set the rate of the trade. This order then goes onto the book and when a compatible trade comes in, the orders are matched and the tokens are traded.
The CTS market tokens trade against the native CYCLES stablecoin on the internet-computer. This creates a chance for the KINIC DAO to trade the native KINIC token for CYCLES to power their canisters and operations instead of having to dip into their ICP treasury to get cycles. Trading against the CYCLES stablecoin also creates a stable trading scenario for traders on both sides.

Following a wonderful conversation about this proposal on the KINIC OpenChat community group linked in the URL of this proposal, where KINIC DAO members faithfully conducted due diligence on the CTS and this proposal and it's outcomes, this proposal is now being made as the first in a series of multiple proposals, that will let the KINIC DAO's autonomous governance canister place an order at the CTS market to trade KINIC tokens for CYCLES which will then be used to fuel KINIC's canisters.

This specific proposal is an AddGenericNervousSystemFunction proposal which configures the KINIC governance canister to be able to call the `trade_tokens` method on the CTS market's KINIC/CYCLES trading pair canister. Following this proposal, there will be two more proposals to complete the placement of the order, one of the type: TransferSnsTreasury to transfer 500-KINIC tokens to the subaccount of the trading pair canister for the order, and one of the type: ExecuteGenericNervousSystemFunction to perform the call to `trade_tokens` and place the order. After the order is placed, one more proposal will be put up (AddGenericNervousSystemFunction) to configure the KINIC autonomous governance canister to be able to withdraw CYCLES from the CTS-CYCLES-BANK when the order is filled.

# Kinic Developer Organization (PFF)

  This proposal will release 15,000 ICP from the Kinic Treasury to the Kinic Developer Organization. This will cover the costs of three core developers, community grants, and community developers building Kinic DAO. It also covers various other expenses related to the DAO (marketing, legal, listing fees, etc.). The funding is expected to last for a 3-month period. During this and next quarter, we have a strong focus on the KINIC token utility and CEX listing.
  
  The KDO expects an increase in expenditure over the next 4 months as the DAO prepares for CEX listings. This is a vital step as it allows KINIC to be purchased by dApp users outside of the context of ICP based DEX and services. DAO members do not be suprised if more requests are made specifically for market makers and listing related expenses.  
  
  Over the past few weeks, Kinic developers have released and committed the canister https://ai.kinic.io/ to the KINIC DAO. It is a frontend for click-and-deploy web3 AI modules. Users pay for this in KINIC tokens. They have also released a DEMO (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YjRZ_Br1Lho) showing how it can be used for semantic search with the Dfinity developer documentation. More models are being worked on, which include usage for on-chain trading and gaming bots, in-browser LLM, semantic search, and ZKP-backed on-chain and off-chain hybrids. They have also open-sourced the world's first Vamana-based vector database (Rust). This allows for updating the vector DB index with deletes and additions. This is important for the context of rapidly changing data such as webpage indexing or asset prices.
  
  Furthermore, many portable AI models are being delivered by big tech more generally. We expect the Kinic DAO to benefit from this open-sourced work as portable models can be more easily used on the IC, in browsers, and on other resource constrained devices. Kinic developergrants will assist in open-sourced Rust-based modules that can be used on the IC and for Kinic DAO.

  Artificial intellegience will run in your cansiter smart contract, on your device, and with your tamperproof datastore. Kinic DAO community members call this 'personal AI'. This is of paramount importance as personal AI is the only true way to have privacy preserving AI (biometrics, LLM for personal matters), and it is the only way companies can ensure tamperproof results (internal dev docs, company FAQ).
